President Meta to Trump: US presence is a key factor for the stability of the region

Albanian President Ilir Meta has conveyed to former U.S. President Donald Trump the importance of continued U.S. involvement in the Western Balkans, describing it as a key factor for maintaining peace and stability in the region. In his message, Meta emphasized that the active presence of the United States plays a pivotal role in promoting security, fostering cooperation, and supporting democratic institutions.

President Meta expressed his appreciation for the long-standing partnership between Albania and the U.S., highlighting how American leadership has contributed to the overall stability and development of the Balkans. He underscored the significance of U.S. support in regional efforts to address challenges such as security threats, economic development, and political reforms.

The Albanian leader also reaffirmed his country’s commitment to working closely with the U.S. and other international partners to ensure lasting peace in the region. Meta emphasized that the U.S. presence remains essential in facilitating dialogue, promoting cooperation among Balkan countries, and encouraging their path toward Euro-Atlantic integration.

President Meta’s message aligns with Albania’s broader foreign policy, which prioritizes strong ties with the United States and continued support for regional stability. As the Balkans continue to face complex political and economic challenges, Albania views U.S. involvement as critical to maintaining a secure and prosperous future.
