Zoran Zaev, Prime Minister of North Macedonia, and Alexis Tsipras, former Prime Minister of Greece, were honored with the 2020 Peace Prize of Westphalia. They were recognized for their diplomatic efforts in establishing the Prespa Agreement, which resolved the long-standing name dispute between Greece and North Macedonia. This agreement is credited with fostering stability in the Balkans and enabling North Macedonia’s accession to NATO. Both leaders highlighted the importance of European integration and regional cooperation in their acceptance speeches.
