The head of the European Union office in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar believes that the barricade in Mitrovica must be lifted for a number of reasons.
“The barricade over Iber bridge in Mitrovica is not only a physical blockade, but also a psychological one”, said Zbogar during a lecture held in front of students of an educational institution in Pristina.
According to him, Kosovo is in the right path for the liberalization of the visa regime. Zbogar said that EU is now preparing its second report on integration.
“We’re here to lift all the barricades that Kosovo has in its path toward the normalization of life. The next barricade that Kosovo will encounter is the liberalization of the visa regime. Kosovo has done a lot in this aspect, especially last year. Now we’re preparing the second report on the liberalization of the visa regime”, said he.
As far as EULEX mission in Kosovo is concerned, Zbogar said that the recent situation shows that this mission must still stay in Kosovo.
Mr. Zbogar also spoke of the general elections which are expected to be held in Kosovo. He said that the elections are expected to be even better than those held last year. He stressed that nothing else is needed but political will. /ibna/
