Serbia and Russia are strategic partners and Moscow’s position towards Kosovo remains unchanged. This was declared today from Belgrade by Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign ministry.
After the meeting with the Serb Foreign minister, Ivica Dacic, she said that Russia will never accept Kosovo’s independence and that it will seek the enforcement of resolution 1244.
According to her, resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council is still in force and that “Russia is committed to respect international law”.
“We have always respected those decisions which uphold the interests of the Serbian people”, she said. Asked about the recent ideas on the correction of Kosovo’s borders., Zakharova said that “it’s the Serbian people who should respond to this”. /ibna/
