Zahir Tanin is appointed the new head of UNMIK to Kosovo

UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon has appointed the new head of UNMIK. He’a Zahir Tanin and he’s the UN’s representative of the United Nations.

Tanin will take over this position starting from 31 August, when he will replace the former head of UNMIK, Farid Zarif.

Besides acting in several occasions as vice chairman of the General Assembly of the United Nations, Tanin has also worked as a producer and editor for Radio BBC, but also as a researcher in the domain of international relations, economy and political sciences at the University of London.

The new head of UMMIK was graduated at the Faculty of Medicine in Kabul. He was born in 1956, while he’s married and has two kids. /ibna/
