Leader of SDSM (Macedonian Social Democratic Union), Zoran Zaev will request a mandate for the formation of the government today by the president of the country, George Ivanov.
Zaev said that he has secured the signatures of 67 MPs who will support him for the creation of the government. The steering committee of SDSM backed Zaev for the creation of the new government. SDSM has 49 seats in parliament, while the leader of this party has gathered the signatures of the 10 MPs of BDI, 5 MPs of Besa Movement and 3 MPs of the Alliance for Albanians.
Several weeks ago, president of the country Nikola Gruevski said that he will offer the mandate to that political party that secures 61 votes in parliament. But Ivanov has conditioned this with the fact that the person who is mandated must preserve unity and implement reforms. /balkaneu.com/
