After his meeting with the Greek Foreign minister, Nikos Kotzias, PM Zoran Zaev said that time has come for decisions worthy of leadership and compromise and that this visit coincides with a very positive moment.
The press statement says that Zaev has stressed that “the future of our two countries should be the focus of our talks. We must be determined and make steps which lead us closer to the solution of the only pending issue between the two countries”.
According to Zaev, this approach will lead to a solution which will offer sufficient arguments to institutions in both countries and the opposition to see that this will be in the best interest of both countries.
Meanwhile, deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Bujar Osmani said that these meetings give way to the solution of the name dispute.
“There has been great progress between the two countries and this boosts confidence and helps us overcome pending issues”, Osmani said.
Meanwhile, during the meeting between Assembly Speaker, Talat Xhaferi and Foreign minister Kotzias, the two officials talked about the intensification of cooperation and for a solution of pending issues. Kotzias has not met with president Gjorge Ivanov, while in the afternoon, he has also met the leaders of VMRO-DPMNE and BDI. /balkaneu.com/
