Government in FYROM will soon send to Parliament the bill on the use of the Albanian language and this is expected to happen before local elections of October. This was announced by Prime Minister of the country, Zoran Zaev.
“One thing is clear, the government will send the new bill concerning the use of the Albanian language in Parliament”, Zaev said.
According to him, the bill is being prepared at the Ministry of Justice and it will soon be given to the government and then sent to Parliament. Zaev said that the bill will also be sent to the Venice Commission for an assessment.
A week ago, the chairman of the Alliance for Albanians announced that he would abandon the government if the bill on the use of Albanian language is not approved before the local government elections”, Ziadin Sela said.
The new bill on the Albanian language will enable this language a broader use in the central institutions of the country and other levels of the state, but it will still not make it a second language throughout the entire territory. /balkaneu.com/
