Minister of Economic Development of Kosovo and the World Bank launched today the start of the project for efficient and renewable energy.
This innovative program will be supported through a loan allocated by the International Development Association (IDA) amounting to 31 million USD.
Heads of the Ministry of Development said that in the governing program, energy is one of the main objectives and in the recent years it has been one of the main barriers of doing business.
Minister of Economic Development, Blerand Stavileci said that these energy projects also aim to implement different standards which have been defined in the European Union directives, especially the ones that regard efficiency measures and renewable energy.
Meanwhile, the head of the World Bank to Kosovo, Jan Peter Olters said that Kosovo is not able to afford unnecessary energy consumption.
On behalf of the Technical Faculty, Naser Kabashi has thanked the government of Kosovo and the World Bank for creating the necessary conditions for these energy projects.
According to him, there have not been investments in the Technical Faculty for over 30 years.
This project is expected to benefit the public sector, including hospitals, universities, schools, etc. /ibna/
