Albania and 7 other European countries apply at least one restriction for the employment of women.
Such fact is confirmed in the latest report issued by the World Bank on gender equality. According to this report, Albania has no quota for women in corporation boards, local councils, parliament seats, while it has a 30% quota in the list of candidates for parliament and local councils. However, in other countries, this quota is higher, amounting to 40-50%.
On the other hand, the report in question admits that gender gaps create low incomes for women, adding that for several economies, inequalities for GNP per capita is attributed to gender inequality. /ibna/
