Defense Minister Panos Kammenos announced that he wants more Greek women to join the army. But as far as it concerns women interested in getting a job as police officers or in the Fire Department or the Coast Guard, joining the army should be a prerequisite.
“Women who want to make a career in the security forces should join the army as conscripts, like their male colleagues,” he said.
Many other ministers might disagree with his intentions, but he said he will persuade them and that he plans (if Ministry o Education agrees) for an early vocational guidance in the high school.
