Three new victims – two young children, a girl and a boy – and woman were added early on Sunday morning, a few kilometers east of Lezvos, to the already many casualties of the refugee flow.
At about 6am a small plastic boat full of refugees and immigrants, 63 in number, was overturned due to stormy winds blowing in the area of Kara Tepe, in an attempt to approach the rocky coast.
Those who made it to the coast spoke of missing persons – refugees aboard the boat who fell overboard due to rough seas during the trip.
The forces of the Coast Guard and Frontex operating in the area have already found three bodies, while the search for the other 7 refugees continues.
