A woman and her two grown up children have lost their life in a terrible event taken place in the early hours of Thursday in the city of Korca.

Erilda Bregasi, spokeswoman of the Police of Korca, told IBNA that the victims are Esmeralda Cicani, 52 years of age, Kristina Cicani, 20 years of age and Tedi Cicani, 18 years of age.

The event occurred around 3 am when a woman and her two children died after their home was engulfed by a fire, the causes of which are still unclear.

On the scene, IBNA learned that the boy and the girl were sleeping in one of the rooms of the home, when they were asphyxiated and burned by the fire.

The father of the family was working the night shift in a private business.

Recently, there have been a growing number of fatalities from fire. The majority of fires in residential homes occurs as a result of problems with the electric system, which in many areas is worn out.

Both now when it’s state owned and in the past when it was privately owned, the electric company doesn’t assume any responsibility for compensation in case of houses being burned or victims in case of problems with the electric system. /ibna/
