US ambassador to Skopje, Paul Wohlers has declared that the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is little likely to be involved in the inquiry of the murder of five Macedonians in the suburbs of Skopje in April 2012. This case led to the life sentencing of six Albanians, a judicial process which sparked reactions and protests from Albanians.
“Officially, the involvement of FBI in the process known as Monster has not been requested, but even if it’s requested, I don’t think it will happen. I must say that I don’t know if this is possible and if such request may be met, because first of all, FBI is very busy in my country and in general, it’s not involved in countries where the system is not known”, said ambassador Wohlers.
A request for investigations from the FBI has also been done by the Albanian opposition party, RDK and after the July protests, this request was also articulated by the leader of BDI, Ali Ahmeti. A few months ago, Ahmeti said that he has talked to PM Nikola Gruevski and that the latter has not objected such international investigation. /ibna/
