Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati expresses his conviction that the incident which took place a few days ago during the football match between Albania and Serbia, will be clarified during the visit in Belgrade in a few days.
Speaking for Reuters, Bushati declared that “next week, Albania is hoping to clarify once and for all the incident taken place on the field between the two national sides and try and remedy the fragile relations in the Balkan”.
Bushati said that the things that took place before, during and after the match, were unpleasant and Albanian authorities have condemned provocations and violence.
The Albanian head of diplomacy said that a new chapter must be opened in the relations between Albania and Serbia, considering it a very important thing for the democratic stability in the region and its advancement in the European Union.
Bushati said that Albania and Serbia have serious problems and that he hopes for the visit to improve Balkan relations and that the meeting between Rama and Vucic will contain “positive elements”.
Bushati also said that Albania will be ready to join the European Union in ten years time, but he expressed his concern about the anti-enlargement rhetoric of several EU MPs.
Bushati further added that Albania is open to offer its contribution ion the US led coalition against ISIS insurgents who have occupied a large part of Iraq and Syria. /ibna/
