Kosovo’s president, Hashim Thaci has declared Wednesday a day of mourning to honour the memory of the former US president, George H.W. Bush.

“On this day of mourning, Kosovo’s state flag will be flown half-mast in all the institutions of Kosovo, inside and outside the country”, the president’s office declared.

Institutions and political parties in Kosovo have expressed their deepest condolences for the death of former president Bush.

Former US president Bush died on Saturday aged 94. Bush will be remembered for the war in Kuwait, when US troops intervened in order to oust Iraqi forces from there. Bush served as president from 1988 until 1992. In his bid to win another term in office, president Bush was defeated by the democrat candidate, Bill Clinton, whose contribution for Kosovo is significant when coalition forces intervened in Kosovo and put an end to the Serb cruelties there. /ibna/
