President Aleksandar Vucic has said that he and US State Department official Hoyt Brian Yee spoke about “virtually all issues” when they met in Belgrade.
Yee was in the Serbian capital on Friday for Vucic’s inaugural reception.
Speaking on Saturday, Vucic said that among these issues were economic and bilateral relations, the Brussels dialogue, the region and Serbia’s role in it, and his visit to Washington DC on July 17 – but not the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center in Nis, southern Serbia.
He also said that he wished to speak less about Serbia’s role in the region and more about bilateral issues with the US, but that the conversation went in “a friendly tone.”
When journalists insisted, Vucic said that the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center was not a topic at all, and that he spoke about it with Yee during their previous meeting.
He added that they also talked about the dialogue with Pristina “and the modalities of this conversation.”/IBNA
