“We have been and remain committed to envisage any model concerning minorities, including the Greek model, if such model exists”.
This is how the Albanian minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati reacted following the recent reactions that the new law on national minorities, which was voted last week by the Albanian parliament, has prompted.
“I have asked all of my colleagues from neighboring countries, including Greece, to offer their inputs and the experience of their country in order to assist us in drafting this law”, he said.
Meanwhile, he said that “there is no reason to believe that there’s any country, including neighboring Greece, that would be interested to place a veto on Albania”.
“I have said it before and I am saying it now that it is not in the interest of Greece or Albania to have such episodes”, the head of the Albanian diplomacy said. /balkaneu.com/
