“We do not accept unilateral actions in the Eastern Mediterranean”, Turkey’s Energy Minister says

Turkey’s Energy Minister, Fatih Domez, in an interview with the Adnadolu agency, said that “the Greek Cypriot side presents itself as the sole severeign of the island. We have pointed out that we do not find it right to try to exploit the natural wealth for their own economic benefits. There is also the Turkish population, and their rights and interests must be protected”.

At the same time, after mentioning that Turkey had begun explorations in Adana, said that “we find it inappropriate that the Greek Cypriot side with unilateral actions declares in these areas that it will perform drillings. On the other hand, however, the “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” has in the same way determined areas which has granted to the Turkish Petroleum Company and we say we will perfume exploratinos there. I hope the other side sees this, so that there is an agreement to the benefit of both sides.”/ibna
