Anti-economic crime unit at the Police of Kosovo has raided on Wednesday morning Kosovo’s Agency of Privatization (KAP) in order to make the arrest of officials who are suspected for abuses with public properties for purposes of gain.
According to IBNA’s sources, 11 people have been arrested, while other arrested are expected to take place within this institution in the days to come.
IBNA learns that the suspects are 4 directors of KAP, 7 officials and former officials and 4 officials and former officials of the Communal Assembly of Podujeva, who are suspected of abusing with properties for the purposes of gain.
Prosecution also suspects on another person to be involved in the abuses of KAP properties. In the meantime, there are also three foreign suspects, members of the Steering Committee of KAP, who enjoy a diplomatic status.
The spokesman of the Police of Kosovo, Baki Kelani has confirmed the operation and said that it relates to suspicions on the abuse of properties by several officials and former officials of KAP. /ibna/
