The victory of the Serb Progressivist Party in the Serb parliamentary elections, will have an impact on the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade, said the EU ambassador to Kosovo, Samuel Zgobar.
Talking today about the elections in Serbia, Mr. Zgobar said that the victory of Mr. Aleksandar Vucic’s party will enable a “smooth implementation” of the Brussels Agreement.
During a visit in Sarajevo, Zgobar said that the talks between prime ministers Hashim Thaci and Ivica Dacic, brokered by EU foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton have been successful because both sides have manifested a will for the normalization of situation in Kosovo.
According to Mr. Zbogar these talks enable these two countries to continue their path toward the EU.
“With this, they have shown that Kosovo has a European future. Now we have customs officers who travel freely in the north. Custom taxes are collected and used for the special fund for the development of communes in the north. Perhaps there’s still not a full functionally of structures in the north based on the laws of Kosovo, but the changes must be valued”, said Zbogar. /ibna/
