The largest Macedonian party, VMRO-DPMNE has addressed accusations against the mayor of Struga, Ziadin Sela, considering him as a nationalist chauvinist, attempting to make this commune entirely Albanian. “With his recent declarations with which he is demanding for the Albanian language in Macedonia to become fully official, he has officially initiated a chauvinist campaign. In an effort to attract as many votes and in the absence of development programs, Ziadin Sela continues his project to make Struga entirely Albanian. He continues to erect Albanian illegal monuments and he continues to remove Macedonian principals”, VMRO-DPMNE says.
According to this party, this commune belongs to this state and that no taxpayers’ money will be allowed to be spent for federalization.
The mayor of Struga has sparked these reactions, following a posting on Facebook last week, where he wrote that if VMRO-DPMNE doesn’t accept bilingualism in FYROM, then Albanians will demand the division of the country in two federations, Macedonian and Albanian. /balkaneu.com/
