A senior member of the Greek minority in Albania has resigned his leading functions and has decided to be part of the Socialist Party led by PM Edi Rama.
Thanas Poci, vice chairman of OMONIA and member of the Steering Committee of the Union for Human Rights Party (PBDNJ), announced his resignation from this party.
Poci said that he has decided to become part of the SP, without issuing other details.
The resignation was handed to the head of PBNDNJ, Vangjel Dule.
For many years, Poci was part of this party that rallies for the rights of the Greek minority in Albania.
He was also a candidate for parliament of PBDNJ in Korca.
It’s not clear if Poci will continue to remain vice chairman of OMONIA, after his resignation from PBDNJ and the decision to join the Socialist Party.
Some say that it’s unclear how a senior member of this party which rallies for the rights of the Greek community, to join a political force which doesn’t have a very cooperative agenda with Greece. /ibna/
