The European Commission has stopped the mandate of the Belgian diplomat Peter Vanhoutte, who was brokering the talks for the solution of the political crisis in FYROM and the implementation of the June 2, 2015 agreement.
“The agreement between the European Commission and Vanhoute is expected to expire and the European Commission will not renew this contract with him”, said the spokeswoman of the European Commission, Maja Kocijancic.
In the recent months, Vanhoutte has been targeted by VMRO-DPMNE of Nikola Gruevski, as he openly criticized the party in power of hindering the solution of the crisis.
A month ago, this party declared that it will not be part of the political talks unless the Belgian diplomat was removed from the table of talks. /ibna/
