American ambassador to Pristina, Tracey Ann Jacobson, called on Serbs to participate in the early parliamentary elections in Kosovo.
She said that if they vote, Serbs can win more than 10 seats, which is the number of seats guaranteed to them in parliament by the Constitution of Kosovo.
Mrs. Jacobson also appealed for the elected MPs to swear allegiance to Kosovo and work based on the Constitution of Kosovo.
According to Jacobson, Serb guaranteed seats in the parliament of Kosovo must continue for another term.
She said that a change in the Constitution must be done for this, something which would require two third of votes in parliament.
Commenting on the last parliamentary elections in Kosovo, she said that “they were not at all regular”. Nevertheless, she adds that she’s optimistic for the June 8 elections. /ibna/
