Representatives of the business sector in Kosovo believe that a tougher war against corruption will boost the faith of the people and tackle unemployment.
American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo has organized a meeting dubbed “Ethics in Business and Corruption”, where the US ambassador to Pristina, Greg Delawie, delivered a speech.
Ambassador Delawie said that fight against corruption is something that he pays much attention to.
“US vice president, Joe Biden, stressed the fight against corruption when he was in Kosovo. When I came to Pristina, I have made an agenda of what I can achieve here in Kosovo. Corruption prevents democracy and the rule of law. Corruption damages economic development and deters investors. Vice president Biden said that corruption is like a cancer that affects everyone. We are investing money and making efforts to fight this plague. My government will invest 12 million USD next year for the fight against this phenomenon”, Delawie said.
Meanwhile, Arian Zeka, head of the American Chamber of Commerce, said that fight against corruption will boost the faith of the citizens and tackle unemployment.
Meanwhile, Besim Kelmendi, prosecutor at the Special Prosecution has also offered the support of the institution that he represents in the fight against corruption. /balkaneu.com/
