Several hours after the agreement, EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn wrote on Twitter that good news had come from FYROM. But the EU senior official, who was a negotiator in the Przino Agreement a year ago, has demanded to political parties to move forward in order to have progress in the implementation of the reforms.
“Good news from FYROM: political parties struck a deal for the pending issues in the talks relating to the Przino agreement. This is a major step toward the end of the political crisis. Momentum should be preserved: the full implementation of key reforms for a sustainable progress”, Hahn said.
Meanwhile, US ambassador, Jess Baily also hailed the agreement by saying that it is a good opportunity.
“Congratulations to Macedonia for the July 20 agreement. This is a very good opportunity for the development of democracy in the country”, Baily wrote.
After the agreement was reached yesterday, Baily said that the elections that will be held must be free and democratic.
“We are hoping that this Agreement will pave the way for credible elections, where all sides will participate and which will be recognized by all sides”, said the US ambassador.
British embassy said that in order for this agreement to be successful, political parties must work hard in order to implement it.
The agreement was also hailed by Slovakia, which holds the EU’s presidency. The Slovakian embassy in Skopje underlined the need for a prompt implementation of this agreement, which is crucial for holding credible parliamentary elections and to put the country back on the Euro-Atlantic integration path. /balkaneu.com/
