United States of America demand for Kosovo to become a member of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

The meeting, which discussed the report of the head of OSCE in Kosovo, Jean Claude Schlumberger, the representative of USA at the OSCE, Daniel B.Baer, said that Kosovo deserves a seat among the other members of this organization.

“We call on OSCE and other members to accept Kosovo as it deserves a seat in this organization”, said the representative of the USA in this organization, Daniel B. Baer.

“We can start by inviting representatives of the government of Kosovo in the work meetings which discuss activities and issues that relate to Kosovo. We demand from special representative  Stoudmann to double his efforts in order to find a way to achieve this. We’re ready to help with this effort”, said he.

Speaking about the institutional gridlock in Kosovo, Baer said that the USA are waiting for the formation of the new government and a timely and constructive solution to this process “in harmony with the ruling of the Constitutional Court”.

Baer has praised Kosovo’s and Serbia’s efforts in the implementation of the agreement achieved in April last year, by saying that “both countries have taken difficult decisions to make the talks a success and to build a stable, peaceful and prosperous future in the region.

“We’re happy that the meetings in Brussels continue and we look forward to seeing more results”, said the US representative at the OSCE. /ibna/
