Deputy assistant Secretary of State, Hoyt Brian Yee praises the political deal that the two largest political parties in the country reached.
In an exclusive interview given for a news portal specialized on issues of the integration of Western Balkan in the European Union, Mr. Yee talks about the issues that concern Balkan countries, about the Russian influence in the Balkans and the future of the joint regional integration.
According to the US senior official, success is attributed to the leaders of those countries who were able to make difficult decisions; in FYROM where president Ivanov gave the mandate for the creation of the government and the opposition in Albania, which took a courageous decision to budge from its position and decide in favor of participating in the elections. According to Mr. Yee, merit also goes for Prime Minister Rama, who needed to show the necessary flexibility to convince the opposition to come back in Parliament. /balkaneu.com/
