The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) issued a press statement confirming the meeting of their leader Isa Mustafa and his close associates with the US Ambassador to Kosovo, Philip Kosnett.
According to an LDK press release, Mustafa briefed Ambassador Kosnett on the course of talks with Vetevendosje, on reaching a ruling coalition agreement.
“Ambassador Kosnett called on political leaders to form a new government that will fulfill the mandate of voters as soon as possible”, the LDK said in the statement.
The LDK and Vetevendosje are negotiating for more than three months now to create a coalition and form new Government but have failed to reach a deal on sharing powers.
On Monday morning, former head of the OSCE Verification Mission in Kosovo during the war, William Walker, was also seen entering the LDK premises. International representatives, including ambassadors have urged Kosovo parties to form a government as soon as possible.
But despite calls the Vetevendosje and LDK have yet to reach a coalition agreement, with the two parties now making new proposals on how the future coalition should look like./ibna
