UNO special rapporteur on the freedom of speech, Frank La Rue, has prepared a report outlining concerns about the state of media in FYR Macedonia.
La Rue has presented in front of the Human Rights Council of UNO, his report relating his last visit in June 2013 in FYR Macedonia. La Rue has highlighted the fact that he’s concerned about the deterioration of free media in FYR Macedonia and about the presence of the language of hatred.
La Rue outlines the restriction of the freedom of speech, the concerns expressed by journalists relating to judiciary trials, attacks against LGBT groups and the presence of discriminating acts carried out by public authorities.
The report encourages Skopje to improve this situation, in particular the freedom of media and take adequate measures against language of hatred. This report has been published in the official page of UNO. /ibna/
