Deputy PM and Minister of Culture of Kosovo, Kujtim Shala has met today with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General, Farid Zarif.
During this meeting, the two interlocutors talked about the cooperation between UNMIK and institutions of Kosovo, in the domain of culture and cultural heritage.
Zarif expressed his readiness and that of the mission that he leads to help the institutions of Kosovo in the process of accession in international organizations, such as UNESCO.
Deputy PM Shala stressed the need to coordinate actions in order to achieve this objective, because according to him, this is an important issue for the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Kosovo.
In this aspect, Shala said that the cultural heritage must be treated as a cultural issue, with professionalism and not as a political issue, therefore he demanded cooperation and understanding in this aspect.
The two participants also discussed the Law on Cultural Heritage. /ibna/
