Within two months, three rectors have held this post in the University of Pristina following the clashes that were initiated by the students.

Following the resignation of the former rector, Dr. Ibrahim Gashi and Dr. Naser Sahiti, Anton Berisha has been elected today as the new rector of the University of Pristina.

Berishaj has been elected with 7 votes in favor and two votes against from the members of the Leading Board of the “Hasan Prishtina” University of Pristina.

Anton Berishaj was racing for this post with professor Myzafere Limani.

For several weeks UP had remained without a rector, as former rector Ibrahim Gashi and vice rectors resigned following student protests as a result of accusations for abuse with office and publication of scientific works in suspicious international magazines.
