According to data published by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Thursday, unemployment in Greece for the fourth quarter of 2013 was reported at 27.5% representing a 1.3% increase compared to the third quarter of the same month and a 5.2% increase compared to that of the same period of 2012.
In numbers, the people who had employment in the last quarter of 2013 were 3,589,257 compared to the 1,363,137 who were out of work.
Women were especially affected with a registered 31.7% unemployment rate, while 62.5% of young women between the age of 15-24 were unemployed. Unemployment in the male population was 14.4% and the unemployment rate for both men and women aged 15-24 stood at 57%.
