Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) published on Wednesday a report on the level of unemployment in Albania, which indicates that for the first quarter of the year, the level of unemployment is 12.8%.
According to INSTAT, during the first quarter of 2013, the average number of unemployed people registered as jobseekers is 141,939.
The unemployment rate is the ratio in percentage of the number of unemployed people registered as part of the labor force.
INSTAT specialists say that to produce data on registered unemployment, they had to use information of the Ministry of Labor.
INSTAT confirms another figure. Out of these jobseekers, only 5.9% benefited jobseekers’ allowance during the first quarter of 2013. According to the decision of the Council of Ministers, jobseekers’ allowance amounts to 6850 ALL.
The average partial social allowance is 3.390 ALL, while the full value of social allowance is 4195 ALL.
Based on the decision of the Council of Ministers, minimum wage is 21 thousand ALL, but through a decision of the recent days, minimum wage increased by 11.6%. /ibna/
