Authorities in Kosovo inform that during the weekend, two police officers have been arrested and two raids have been carried out in Northern Mitrovica on suspicion of their involvement in “tampering with evidence”.
Local media cited prosecution officials as saying that the arrest relates to the murder of the Serb politician, Oliver Ivanovic and that the suspects are being investigated about the way the crime scene has been preserved following the incident.
The two arrested people have been remanded in custody for 48 hours.
The leader of the Serb party “Freedom, Democracy, Justice”, Oliver Ivanovic was gunned down on 16 January in the north of Mitrovica.
The murder prompted reactions by the international community, urging the authorities to resolve this case as soon as possible for the situation to remain calm. /balkaneu.com/
