Turkish security officials at airports are tackling terror suspects with success

On Wednesday, a Turkish security source told Anadolu news agency that for three years, between June 2014 and 2017, risk analysis centres “based at Istanbul’s bus stations and its two airports screened nearly 45,000 foreign suspects and deported over 2,500.”

According to source who spoke anonymously -because of certain limitations- to the medium, it is all about a very successful project “spearheaded by Istanbul police chief Mustafa Caliskan and continues to operate” with great success.

Before entering interview rooms, a great deal of work is being done and results are tangible due to criteria such as facial expressions, attitudes, behaviors, and clothing that are applied to those that are seen as suspects. After entering the interview spaces, the responsible authorities “do psychological testing to determine whether suspects should be sent back to their countries of origin. For those denied entry or deported, a confidential file is sent to the authorities in their home country giving the reasons for their return”…./IBNA
