A harsh announcement was issued by the Foreign Ministry of Turkey against the Republic of Cyprus.
The spokesman of the Turkish Foreign Ministry states:
“We are following with interest the information of the press for any information regarding arrest warrants issued by the Greek Cypriot administration for the employees of our drill Fatih and those companies cooperating with the TAFO.
If this decision is true, which violates the rights of the Turkish Cypriots and ignores them, then it will have no power over us. If the administration has behaved with such audacity, then have no doubt that we will answer appropriately.”
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as it states that this decision is not in line with international law, as no maritime borders have been set, states that Ankara will begin the necessary legal action.
“These empty actions of the Greek Cypriot administration that aim to stop the investigations in our continental shelf will have no effect.
In order to defend its rights and to defend the rights of Turkish Cypriots, Turkey will continue to resolutely pursue its investigations and drills as planned.”/ibna
