Turkey will reopen mosques for prayers to worshipers on Wednesday, the head of the Religious Affairs Directorate said on Tuesday.
Ali Erbas posted on Twitter that the worshipers would be required to wear masks and respect the rules of social distancing.
Erbas noted that the mosques have already opened for the afternoon prayers and Friday prayers.
On March 16, the country’s top religious organization announced a nationwide suspension of prayer gatherings, including Friday prayers, following the corona spread.
Turkey has recently eased restrictive measures as it enters a period of normalization. /ibna
