Turkish Chief Counselor to the President Ibrahim Kalin had a phone conversation with US National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien on Friday.
According to Turkish sources, the two men discussed bilateral relations, responses to the coronavirus pandemic, NATO solidarity, developments in Syria and Libya, as well as regional issues.
According to the same sources, as reported by Anadolu Agency, special mention was made of the support to the UN-recognized Libyan government and the termination of Khalifa Haftar’s illegal activities.
The two men also agreed that there was an urgent need to resolve the Syrian crisis which has been ongoing since 2011, and that more efforts are needed to combat terrorism.
Kalin and O’Brien also stressed the importance of solidarity among NATO members amid these difficult times. /ibna
