Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci had a meeting today with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu.
During this meeting, Thaci expressed his gratitude for the help that Turkey has given to Kosovo in the domestic and foreign consolidation.
Thaci and Cavusoglu said that they were ready to boost relations between the two countries in all domains.
“For us, Turkey is one of the main economic partners and we will make all efforts to boost commerce and increase the number of investors in Kosovo”, Thaci said.
Besides the economic aspect, the two counterparts also discussed cooperation in the domain of security.
On behalf of the Turkish government, minister Cavusoglu said that Turkey is ready to offer concrete assistance in education and equipment for the future army of Kosovo.
Cavusoglu also praised the presence of Turkish investors in Kosovo and said that the Turkish government will encourage other Turkish entrepreneurs to come and invest in Kosovo and open new businesses.
As former head of the Council of Europe Assembly, minister Cavusoglu expressed his personal support for Kosovo’s aspiration to become a member of the European Council.
During the day, deputy PM Thaci will also have meetings with other Turkish state leaders. /ibna/
