A statement by the French Presidency speaks of talks between France’s President Emmanuel Macron and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan who are planning to work closely together on a “diplomatic road map” for Syria.
If this happens, it will take place within the coming weeks.
For the moment, the two heads of state have had a phone contact and discussed “about the security, political and humanitarian situations in Syria — including Turkey’s military offensive in the Syrian Kurdish enclave of Afrin”, AP report reads.
The two countries are looking for a political solution with the help and support of the UN. According to AP, talks between France and Turkey will “intensify further in the coming days.”…/IBNA
