Kosovo and Turkey continue to have excellent relations and Turkey continues to lobby for Kosovo’s recognition in the international arena.
This was declared by the Turkish Foreign deputy minister, Ahmet Yildiz during his visit to Pristina and other areas where the Turkish community lives.
The Turkish Foreign deputy minister said that both countries are aiming to become members of the European Union and that EU enlargement policies must work for this.
“In the 90’s, Kosovo has fought for independence and for this reason, Turkey continues to lobby for the recognition of Kosovo’s independence. Turkey and Kosovo are European states. The problem for the recognition of Kosovo’s independence must be solved as soon as possible. Turkey’s policy in this region is one of peace and fraternity”, said Yildiz.
Yildiz also said that Turkey is supporting Kosovo’s accession in the NATO.
Meanwhile, Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj said that Turkey is helping with Kosovo’s recognition and accession in international organizations.
“Relations between our countries are excellent and many accessions that have happened so far have been made possible thanks to Turkey’s support”, he said.
Many cultural and sport activities were organized as part of the Turkish Community Day in Kosovo. Deputy minister Ahmet Yildiz participated in a number of activities organized in Pristina, Gjilan, Prizren and Mamushe.
He also had meetings with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, Foreign minister Enver Hoxhaj and minister for Public Administration, Mahir Yagcilar. /balkaneu.com/
