Turkey: Cavusoglu met with Selaković and Tahiri

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu had separate meetings Thursday with his Serbian counterpart Nikola Selaković and First Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Besnik Tahiri.

“[We discussed] bilateral and regional issues”, Cavusoglu wrote on Twitter after his meeting with Tahiri, adding that he shared brotherly feelings with the people of Kosovo.

The Turkish Foreign Minister expressed hope that justice would be served and that Turkey would continue to support Kosovo.

Earlier in the day, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci announced his resignation following a war crimes indictment by Kosovo’s Special Prosecutor in The Hague.

In a Twitter post about his meeting with the Serbian Foreign Minister, Cavusoglu said he once again congratulated Selaković on his appointment as Foreign Minister.

“[We discussed] the preparations for the 3rd Supreme Cooperation Council. [We will] promote our cooperation in the economy, transport and education”, the Turkish minister wrote.

The three officials will attend the informal meeting of Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Foreign Ministers to be held on Friday in the Mediterranean province of Antalya, Turkey./ibna
