Turkish and Greek officials will meet in the Turkish capital, Ankara, in the coming days to address issues that have led to the escalation of tensions, the Turkish Defence Minister said on Friday.
“We are trying to solve problems with these [meetings]. Our work is continuing in this direction”, Hulusi Akar said, after praying for Bayram at the iconic Selimiye Mosque in Edirne, in northwestern Turkey. The Defence Minister is visiting the area to inspect the Turkish border with Greece and Bulgaria.
Akar was accompanied by the Chief of General Staff, General Yasar Guler, the Commander of the Land Forces, General Umit Dundar, the Commander of the Special Forces, General Hasan Kucukakyuz, and the Commander of the Naval Forces, Adnan Ozbal./ibna
