“Soon the difficult period for Greece and the Greek people is coming to an end. The prime minister’s message in detail

“The Greek Revolution of 1821 was the result of European and Greek Enlightenment and the carrier of modern values of freedom with social justice. As such, the Greek Struggle for Independence inspired an international wave of admiration, solidarity and active support, the Philhellenism.

Today, Greece and the Greek people are, again, the focus of global concern and at the forefront in defending the universal values of humanity, offering and solidarity, and what’s more in conditions of an unprecedented economic crisis.

In this struggle, our people demonstrate strength, dignity, pride and faith in its strengths. Soon this difficult period is coming to an end. The next page of our history belongs to a new Greece, free from the traumas of the economic crisis and the supervision of lenders, a model of democracy, social solidarity and culture for the whole of Europe.

It is in this Greece that in five years’ time, we will celebrate the 200 years from the Greek Revolution”.
