Government of Kosovo, chaired by PM Isa Mustafa, has held its second meeting today, to approve the bill on Amendments of the Law on Public Enterprises.
The bill approved today includes two new articles, besides those according to which, enterprises can turn public upon the decision of parliament and the demand of the government of Kosovo.
According to the proposed amendments, the Trepca Metallurgic Combine will be regulated with a special strategy and law, while the activity of enterprises that have entered the process of reorganization, bankruptcy or liquidation, will be suspended upon the entry in force of this law, without the need of a court decision.
At the time when the government was deciding on Trepce, the head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar has commented this issue.
In a lecture held before students of the University of Pristina, Zbogar said that the liquidation of Trepca should be avoided.
Zbogar said that Trepce must be taken from the Kosovo Privatization Agency and then a strategic partner must be found for further development of this industrial enterprise. /ibna/
