Train crashes with a bus, 36 wounded in the east of FYROM

At least 36 people have remained wounded this morning following the crash of a train and a bus in the region of Ovce Pole in the road linking Shtip to Veles in the east of the country.

The serious accident took place when the bus moving in the road linking Shtip to Veles, has not stopped in front of a railway passage and suddenly, it was crashed by a train moving at a high speed.

The director of the hospital of Shtip, Aleksandar Stojanovski declared that the number of wounded people is 36, 16 of which were bus passengers, while 20 others were train passengers. He said that they have been rushed to the hospital of Veles.

Mr. Stojanovski said that “the 16 patients admitted at the hospital of Shtip are in a stable condition, while one of them has been admitted to the Skopje Clinic due to the serious wounds that he had sustained.

Police teams have launched a full scale inquiry into shedding light on the causes of the accident. /ibna/
