According to the Minister of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Srpska Maida Ibrišagić-Hrstić, one of the most significant projects in the area of tourism this year was the continued construction of Andrićgrad.
Hrstić told Fena that “most interest this year has been shown for Jahorina, Višegrad, or Andrićgrad, Trebinje and Banja Luka. During the first 10 months there were 215.848 visits, and 571.051 overnight stays” , which represents a 6% increase of arrivals and 4% increase of overnight stays compared to last year.
RS Minister of Trade and Tourism stated: ‘’the backbone of tourism development in the coming year will be the formation of concrete tourism products for specific target groups, in order to increase the number of tourists in all municipalities, and therefore turnover in tourism and hospitality industry’’.
Hrstić believes that the reduction of the gray economy in tourism and hospitality, better marketing, along with promotion of tourist offers in the country and abroad are the milestones for further development of tourism.
The majority of tourists come from the region and the numbers increase every year.
RS presentation of its offers at tourism fairs in Vienna, Prague, Tel Aviv, Utrecht, Istanbul and other cities had a major impact.
