The first electric bus has been tested in the Albanian capital, Tirana.
The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj has said that although the Albanian capital is not yet like Paris, Amsterdam and Warsaw, it is attempting to make steps forward toward development.
“What we must do in a gradual way each year is called “turn over”, which means slowly replacing buses that work on fuel with buses working on electricity. Of course, the ordering of a bus requires up to a year and nobody is expecting for this change to be complete within a year”, he said.
“At the end of the test, we will receive a report on the way the bus performs and what sort of batteries we should order for the city of Tirana”, Veliaj said. /balkaneu.com/
